EASTAR™ & iNetVu® Passed Compatibility Tests
Moscow, 30 June 2010Eastar Co. and VSAT operator Settelekom (AltergroSky™) have successfully tested out the UHP-1000 satellite router produced by Eastar, Russia and Romantis GmbH, Germany and the iNetVu® self–pointing antenna system produced by C-COM Satellite Systems Inc., Canada for Compatibility Tests (CPT).
Thanks to the mutual Interworking Protocol developed by Eastar and C-COM Satellite Systems Inc., the Eastar™ router became capable to receive information on the current geographical location from the antenna system, necessary for ТDMA mode router operation.
Interworking protocol based on Eastar™ platform makes it possible to reduce time and improve accuracy of antenna self-pointing, providing a complete control of the router operation by using different types of satellite communication systems. Now UHP-1000 is included in the antenna system controller as a standard device.
The equipment was tested out at Settelecom’s site via the following satellite systems: Express-AM1 and Intelsat 904. Interface compatibility of these two systems opens great prospects to a mobile satellite-based technology in Russia.
Currently Eastar is testing out the technology supporting domestic GPS system GLONASS.
