Romantis Announced New FULL-MESH feature of EASTAR VSAT Platform

EASTAR - Russian developer and manufacturer of VSAT-class satellite communications equipment has released new software for its satellite routers EASTAR™ series UHP-1000 and UHP-8000 that supports FULL-MESH connectivity. This mode allows building a hub-less satellite networks, where all the stations interact with each other directly in a single satellite hop with just a single TDMA carrier.

EASTAR™ VSAT platform is the world's first technology that supports all the most popular types of topologies: “point-to-point”, "Star", "HALF-MESH" (Star with Mesh overlay) and “FULL-MESH”. Switching between these modes is software-selectable, without any need in replacing the hardware.

FULL-MESH mode opens up a wide range of additional applications for EASTAR™ VSATs. For example, it is very efficient replacement of dedicated SCPC lines, allowing to release a significant amount of satellite capacity. EASTAR™ Full-Mesh technology guaranties industry lowest cost of ownership for small-size networks (up to 10-15 stations) and is the best solution for backup of terrestrial lines or IP-SNG occasional use services.

Within the framework of the agreement with EASTAR, Romantis GmbH was granted a license on production and manufacture of the innovation EASTAR VSAT platform under its own trademark, whereas other companies of the group become official distributors of the platform in various countries of the world.
